Thank you for contacting us regarding the Aerospace Fastener Manufacturing training program at El Camino College Compton Education al Center. The Aerospace Fastener Manufacturing Training program was created through a partnership between the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies of the California Community College Economic and Workforce Development Division, and the Industrial Fastener Institute.

The training is 8 weeks long and is full-time training, 5 days per week, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Students will earn 7 units of college credit upon completion.

The cost to attend the training is about $800.00. There are fee reduction programs available for qualifying individuals.

The training is held at the El Camino College Compton Educational Center, 1111 E Artesia Blvd., Compton, CA. 90221

We are working on scheduling the next training class, which will be sometime in June, 2009.

In order to be accepted into the class, each student must score at the 7th grade level in math and English on the assessment test. We are scheduling math and English assessments for April/May

There is a 2 week paid internship where students will be assigned to an employer and will work for a minimum of 40 hours to gain additional experience. The internship pays an $8.00 per hour stipend and is done the last few weeks of training. Students that qualify for the paid internship must pass a drug screen and background check.

Completion of the training results in a Certificate . There are many employers that are interested in hiring our graduates.
